4/3/25

6th and 8th - Typing Club

7th Grade - Library

6th and 8th grade students will meet in the Technology Lab in Rm. 19 for class today.

Students need to log into their ‘Typing Club’ accounts by hovering over the ‘Quick Links 2’ button and clicking ‘Typing Club’.  Students will sign in with their Google Account credentials.

For the first 20 minutes of class, students need to independently work on either typing lessons, or type through one of the stories on their dashboard.  Students should be using home row and correct finger placement throughout the lessons/stories.

For the next 10-15 minutes, students may switch to any productive game on my website, Freckle, coding, TinkerCAD, or other homework.

Students may play appropriate games for the final 10 minutes.

***At the end of class, all students must check that they are signed out of both Typing Club and their Google Accounts in Chrome.***

7th Grade Library:  Checking Out Books/Silently Reading

Students will meet in the Library for today’s classes.  Remind students walking in that they need their library books and their Chromebooks.

For the first 20-25 minutes of class, students will be doing the following:

  1. Dropping off books on the corner of the teacher desk.  (I will check-in the books tomorrow, or a parent volunteer may check them in throughout the day.)

  2. If students need to ‘Renew’ a book, they can just keep it this week and I won’t worry about any ‘Overdue’ books that may accumulate the next week.

  3. Checking out a new book and scanning them at the specific student chromebook designated for check-outs.  Students know how to find their class, their name, and independently scan their book barcode to check out a book.

  4. Once students have checked out a book, they may silently read at one of the desks.  They are not allowed on the carpet nor the couch today.

For the next 10 minutes, students can work on anything productive, including Freckle, other homework, typing, coding, tinkerCAD, etc.  No games yet.

For the last 10-15 minutes, students can switch to using their Chromebooks to work on homework/study or a game from ‘STEM Activities’ or ‘Hour of Code’ pages: no regular games.  Students must remain in their seats and play quietly in case some students choose to continue reading/working on online homework.

4th Grade - Typing Club

4th grade students will meet in the STEM Lab in Rm. 14 for class today.
