STEM Activities/Digital Escape Rooms/Code.org Projects

Students may navigate to the 'STEM Activities', ‘Digital Escape Rooms’, or 'Code.org Projects' page by hovering over the ‘More’ tab and clicking 'STEM Activities',  ‘Digital Escape Rooms’, or signing in to Code.org.  For today’s lesson, you may pick any of the STEM activities/digital escape rooms on this page or projects from code.org.  If you need a blank piece of paper, you can find some on my desk or over by the printer.  Your teacher can walk behind the computers to grab additional printer paper.  You may quietly work with a partner next to you, but please remain in your seats.

After 20-25 minutes, students can switch to Freckle/TinkerCAD/Hour of Code or any other homework if needed.

For the last 5-10 minutes, students can play any game quietly at their seats.

Google's 'Applied Digital Skills'

Create an Animation in Google Slides

Students can sign in to 'Applied Digital Skills' through 'Quick Links'.  Sign in with your Google Accounts.

Today you will be independently working on creating an animation using Google Slides.  We have done other 'Applied Digital Skills lessons before, and this one is no different.

Just follow along with the videos and then create your work step by step.  You can use headphones, watch the video quietly with closed captioning, or watch in small groups.  If you need to pause the video and do the steps along with the video, that is fine, too!

I am not expecting you to finish this lesson today, so create an animation long enough for 2 class periods.

We will come back to this lesson later next week.

For the last 10 minutes, students can play any game quietly at their seats.
