Sprite Lab

4th and 5th Grade:

Code.org Project - Sprite Lab -

Why Saint Pius is a GREAT school!!

Good morning!

For today's lesson, you will be beginning a mini-project in Code.org's 'Sprite Lab'.

To get to the Sprite Lab follow the directions below:

Hover over Quick Links, and click 'Code.org'.  Sign in with your Google accounts.

Once on your dashboard, click 'New Project' in the top right corner, and click 'Sprite Lab'.

Instructions:

You will have at least 2 class periods to work on this project.  The worst thing you could do

is rush through this project and be "done" in 15 minutes.  You can always add more sprites and details!

Take your time on this project and add numerous details, sprites, events, and interactions to make your project come to life!

1. Your job is to tell about why Saint Pius is an amazing school!  Use Sprites to represent yourself,

teachers, classmates, subjects, sports, events, and other topics that relate to Saint Pius.

2. Each sprite should have interactive elements to them.  For example, when you click on a basketball,

your sprite can tell about the various I-League sports we have at school.  Or when you click on Mrs. Pigott holding

a paintbrush, you can have her talk about Art and the cool projects you do in class.

3. You need to include at least 7 different sprites in your project, a title, and complete sentences.

4. Bonus! Can you get your different sprites to also interact with each other?

Make sure to rename your project in the top left so that you can find it later. Name it 'Saint Pius - 'Your First Name'

At the end of class make sure to sign out of both Code.org and Google.

If you work hard today, you can have the last 10 minutes to quietly find an ABCYA game.

Thanks!
